About our Management Training practice

The people behind the programmes, and why we do this work.

How we started

In 2016, our founder Claire Meredith left a 15-year career in NHS Wales operational management. She had spent the last three of those years designing internal training for ward managers at a large hospital trust in Swansea. The programmes worked: staff turnover on trained wards dropped 22% over two years, and patient complaint rates fell alongside it.

Claire wanted to bring that same approach to private-sector organisations. She started with a single client, a haulage company in Bridgend with 40 drivers and six supervisors who had never received formal management training. Over eight weeks she ran workshops on shift scheduling, difficult conversations and basic employment law. The company renewed within three months.

Word spread. By 2018 we had four facilitators and clients across south Wales. Today we work with organisations from Anglesey to London, though our office remains in Nether Swaniawski where Claire lives.

A timeline of milestones

  • 2016 — Claire Meredith delivers the first programme to a Bridgend haulage firm.
  • 2018 — Team grows to four facilitators. First client outside Wales, a Bristol fintech.
  • 2020 — We move all programmes online during lockdown and develop our virtual coaching format.
  • 2022 — 250th manager trained. We introduce the senior leadership intensive residential.
  • 2024 — 340+ managers trained. 92% client rebooking rate.

What we believe

These are not aspirational slogans pinned to a wall. They are working rules that shape how we design sessions, choose clients and measure our own performance.

Real problems first

Every session works on a challenge the participant is actually facing. We do not use generic case studies from textbooks. If a manager needs to restructure a team of eight, that is the exercise. The output is a plan they can implement the next working day.

Measure what matters

We agree specific metrics with each client before a programme starts. Staff retention, project delivery time, engagement survey scores: something concrete. At the 90-day follow-up we check whether those numbers moved. If they did not, we discuss what to change.

Small groups, honest feedback

We cap every session at eight participants. This makes it impossible to sit quietly at the back. Each person presents, receives feedback and revises their approach during the session itself. Facilitators give direct, specific feedback rather than vague encouragement.

Long-term relationships

We do not sell one-off workshops and disappear. Our coaching packages run for a minimum of six months, and 92% of our clients rebook within a year. We want to see change stick, not just deliver a pleasant day out of the office.

Credentials and affiliations

Claire holds a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. Tom and Rhian are both CMI Level 5 qualified. David is an accredited coach through the International Coaching Federation at the ACC level.

We are registered with the Chartered Management Institute as an approved training provider. Our programmes align with CMI frameworks, and participants on the new manager induction can apply their learning towards CMI Level 3 qualifications if they choose to pursue formal accreditation separately.

All facilitators hold current DBS checks and carry professional indemnity insurance. We comply with UK GDPR requirements for handling participant data and evaluation records.
